2019 was a big year for us as a band. We signed our first record contract with Xtra Mile Recordings, released our first vinyl album My War is Your War, performed at our first UK festival as a duo at 2000 Trees Festival, played our first deux furieuses shows around the UK and broadcast our first acoustic session live to air on Radio X at the invitation of John Kennedy. Our live set was about reaching out to the audience much more so than ever before. We would like to thank everyone who has worked with us, bought our album, come to shows and written in support of us. Without this vital support we would not be able to continue and there would not be much point.
‘Year of Rage’ was written on New Year’s Eve as a song of hope that if enough of us joined forces we would be a power for change. ‘Words of Warning’ was a message from a political prisoner who survived a Berlin concentration camp to a Europe of the future. ‘Let Them Burn’ was a song about the people who just didn’t matter enough, who didn’t even have the ‘common sense’ to flee a burning building. In 2020, solidarity with musicians, writers, activists, those who speak the truth and other refugees from a ‘Cruel Winter’ as the architect of Universal Credit is knighted. Your war is our war. Let Scotland roar.. but keep the red flag flying here. All the best for the New Year and hope to see you at a show! Ros and Vas 🚩🚩
